In the spirit of wing-eating, the Waltonian decided to go in search of the best wings in the area. Our quest to find the best led us to four different restaurants; some of the more common places Eastern students go to get their wings. We tasted; we tested; we got all the information you would ever want to know about these wings, and here are our results.
Campus Corner
Vital Information
Phone: (610) 527 3606
Delivery and Eat-in
Business Hours: Mon-Thurs 11am to 1am, Fri-Sat 11am to 2am, Sun 12pm to 1am
829 Lancaster Avenue, Villanova
Served on a dinosaur-size leaf of lettuce, these babies are thick. The variety is only one flavor on this menu (hot wings, no barbecue, no nothing). Only four to five sticks of celery on the side; what gives? Prices at the Corner are decent: $5.99 for a dozen.
Don’t worry about having to buy large quantities, a dozen gets the job done. No skinny chickens were harmed in the making of these wings. The hot sauce is hot, with a noticeable amount of vinegar added. Sauce is very thin and liquidy, very much unique, but good nonetheless. Would we recommend it? Take a stab at if you want, it’s worth it, but chances are you’ll like other wings better.
Domino’s
Vital Information
Phone: (610) 527 3434
Delivery and Eat-in
Business Hours: Sun-Thurs 11am-12am, Fri-Sat 11am-1am
128 W Lancaster Avenue, Wayne
They have a reputation for their pizza but now Domino’s offers another college students’ favorite, a side order of wings. They were somewhat of a disappointment as they did not come with celery sticks. The difference between these wings and other wings is as clear as the difference between fast food and sit-in dining.
Domino’s wings are big, but their chicken is definitely not fresh off the farm. The only thing that these wings really have going for them is the blue cheese dressing that comes free with every order. Other than that, the chicken is below average and the sauces (B.B.Q. and hot) have no distinctive taste to them.
They do deliver on time (36 minutes for our order) but other places are faster. Not a very good deal: 10 wings for $5.99. We would recommend Domino’s for a social gathering such as football on Sundays when the wings would be more of a side dish to the pizza. In that case, you would be saving yourself some money by ordering it all from Domino’s. So should you get the door with Domino’s? No, try some place else.
Winger’s

Delivery Only
Business Hours: Mon-Thurs 11am to 1am, Fri-Sat 11am to 2:30am, Sun 12pm to 1am

They said they would be on campus with our wings in thirty minutes and they were.
Winger’s is not your ordinary wing shack. Their wings are made with fresh chicken ordered every day by the store. Winger’s offers a unique wing-eating experience with thick wings and a wide selection of sauces that will send you on an adventure each time you order.
Buffalo style chicken wings or boneless wings. Big variety of sauces to choose from including mild, medium, hot, X-Tra Hot, Liquid Fire (scary huh?, one of those eat-at-your-own-risk deals), cajun, teriyaki, b.b.q., honey mustard, honey b.b.q., and Winger’s Original. Not bad prices: 10 wings for $5.80 and discounts for larger purchases. They also deliver their wings with four celery sticks for every 10 wings ordered. Better than Campus Corner because of their wide range of sauce flavors.
Breezeway Café
Vital Information
Eat-in Only
Business Hours: Lunch: Mon-Fri 11am to 1:30pm, Late Night: Sun-Mon 5pm to 12am, Tues-Fri 8pm to 12am (Grills close at 11:30pm)
Eastern University (far end of Guffin from Kea)
From the moment you lay eyes on these wings you’re mind will be wondering. The Breezeway serves their wings covered in a mystery sauce of faded red coloring. You can get eight wings for $4.25 or eight wings with a side of fries and a soda for $5.95. Breezeway’s wings are interestingly crunchy on the outside with cotton candy tender meat on the inside. In other words, they provide you with a curious eating experience, but they are not very filling. The best part about these wings is their hot sauce (the only option available for sauce). The sauce is not all that hot but it does have a distinctive taste to it.
Unless you are lacking a cell phone, a car or any money aside from what’s left on your E-Card, you should seek wings from someplace other than the Breezeway.
The final word: Anyone from Philadelphia can tell you that the best cheesesteaks are not necessarily at Geno’s or Pat’s. Any local restaurant could be a diamond in the rough. Good wings can be found at pretty much any local restaurant.
The call: undecided. The best wings are probably not at any place heralded for their wings.
