Women’s Tennis

Ten years after graduating from Eastern, Mark Spangler returned last spring to coach the men’s tennis team. This fall he will be extending his responsibilities to include head coach of the women’s tennis team. “I thought some of the things we did with the men’s program we could do with the women’s program,” Spangler said.

Field Hockey

Even before having played a game in the MAC, Eastern’s field hockey team already has a rival in their new conference. Alvernia College reached the PAC Championship game against Eastern each of the past three years, winning last year’s championship by the narrowest of margins in penalty shootouts. Recycling goes single stream

As of this summer, Allied Waste has put a single-stream recycling system into effect, changing the method of recycling on Eastern’s campus. Allied Waste, the company formally recognized as BFI Waste, sent the necessary paperwork this month for the university to go forward with single stream recycling, said Administrative Assistant of Campus Services Donna MacIntosh.
