Men’s Soccer

Coach Mark Wagner called his team to focus last Wednesday on a group of veteran players performing a passing drill.

“That’s what we want, boys: fast, crisp perfection,” Wagner told his team. “Everything must be fast.”

Achieving perfection will certainly be more difficult this year. Not only does the switch to the MAC mean a higher level of competition, this year’s men’s soccer team is also comprised of many new players. Sixteen new additions to the roster will compliment the 13 returning players from last year’s conference championship team.

Junior Mike Leitzel said that this is the fittest team he has played with in his three years at Eastern. He believes they can easily make the championship in their new league.

Sophomore Ben Faro sees the team’s biggest weakness as its lack of knowledge about the new conference.

“Our goal is to be better than last season,” Faro said.

Without knowing specifically what they’re up against, the men’s soccer team can only focus on perfecting themselves.
