Hannah Bonanducci is a senior Communication Studies major with concentrations in Journalism, Digital Media Studies and Strategic Communication. She has been working with The Waltonian for three years and won an Honorable Mention with the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association. In her free time, she loves reading, listening to music, playing Animal Crossing and planning events with friends.
Hannah Gerber (she/her) is a junior Communication Studies major and a student in the Templeton Honors College. When she is not furiously double-checking AP Style’s requirements, she is embroidering, reading or helping out in the theatre department.
Alyssa Caldini is a junior with a double major in Marketing and Business Administration with a minor in Communication Studies. In addition to this role with the Waltonian, she is also a marketing intern for the College of Business and Leadership at Eastern University. Alyssa is a part of the field hockey team and spends her free time with friends or at the beach during the summertime.
Karli Helm is a sophomore majoring in Media Communications. She is the Waltonian’s very own Web Editor, which is a fancier way of saying she oversees what goes on the website! Other than working for the Walt, she loves listening to Hamilton, rereading her favorite books, and visiting Zime on a daily basis. She has a passion for news that she is excited to continue exploring during her time at Eastern.
Anisah Smith is a senior Marketing and Business Administration double major. She likes to keep herself busy on campus with activities such as playing on the tennis team, performing with the marching band, and running her own show on the university radio, Studio 1300.
Lenora Kirkland is a senior philosophy major and history minor, in the Templeton Honors College. Having first joined the paper as a freshman, she is excited to be returning for her final year on the Waltonian. In her free time she enjoys reading and writing (as a stereotypical philosophy major often does), and spending time with family and friends.
Natasha Chaillou is a junior Forensic Chemistry major involved in both the marching band and women’s lacrosse team. She started as a guest writer for the Waltonian in 2024 and is now editor for the arts and entertainment section. Natasha also spends her time working in the writing center and as an RA for Hainer. Her goal is to work for the FBI while also maintaining her hobby of writing on the side.
Destiny Chiles is a sophomore, double-majoring in English Creative Writing and Computer Science, while also minoring in journalism. She is very passionate about the art of writing itself and producing quality work for people to enjoy. As the Center Spread Editor, Destiny plans to utilize her passions by contributing to the Waltonian.
Eva E. Whited is a junior English major at Eastern University (with lots of opinions) and works as a CTLT Learning Technology Specialist and a Writing Assistant at Eastern’s Writing Center. She dreams of one day opening her own small press to promote small writers like herself and provide them with the opportunity to be read. In her free time, she loves to read thriller novels and walk aimlessly around thrift stores. She has one goal in life: get published!
Paul McConnell is a senior Communication Studies major with a concentration in Digital Media. He loves writing and talking about all things sports and has been a guest writer for The Waltonian since 2024. You can also find him talking about sports on Studio 1300.
Selah Curcuruto (she/her) is a junior psychology and dance major in the Templeton Honors College and Student Chaplain program. This is her first time working on the Waltonian staff and is excited to be the puzzle editor. She enjoys reading, dancing, being with friends, and spending time outside.
Daniel Finegan is a senior math major, and a member of the Templeton Honors College. After graduating, he plans to attend Villanova University to pursue a masters in structural engineering. He has worked for The Waltonian since 2022.
I’m Joshua Steen, a junior Social Work and Sociology double major here at Eastern. I’m a staff writer for The Waltonian to help foster a strong campus culture, tell stories and provoke conversations between community members.

Molli Sider-Rose is a junior English major in Templeton Honors College. She has previously written for the Waltonian in the spring of 2025 and is excited to work on the Waltonian staff again! Alongside her love of writing, she enjoys reading books, low-effort hiking, and learning about fashion history.
Kennedy Vargas is a freshman social work major. She is a new staff member. She spends her free time reading about history, listening to music, and volunteers with YACHT.
Cass Curtorillo (she/her) is a junior nursing major and a student in Templeton Honors College. She is a new staff writer with The Waltonian. In her free time, she loves to do anything involving art, whether that be painting, drawing, or reading poetry.
Loubetsi Koffa is a freshman student who loves to read and write poetry. She’s a staff writer. She loves to write out imaginative tales and spends time in Ruby’s office.
Jada Canty is a first-year student with a love for music, majoring in psychology. While being a new addition to the Eastern family, she is also a new member of the Waltonian. Although her only journalistic experience was serving as her high school news anchor for two years, she hopes to gain a better understanding and another perspective.
Cass Kiefaber is a Junior Computer Science major with a love for gaming, music, and reading. They’re a new member to the Waltonian staff and an assistant in the Writing Center. When they’re not going down a rabbit hole of new album discoveries, one can find them working towards whatever creative aspirations grasp them in the moment.
Za’Niyah Wesley is a second-year Communication Studies major concentrating in Journalism who is a member of The Waltonian newspaper club, passionate about sports, faith and music. She is very thrilled to be a part of The Waltonian and contribute to the team yet another year. In her free time she enjoys going to Fowler to the piano room or watching football. Ethan Muldoon is a junior Marketing major and a student of the Templeton Honors College at Eastern University. He is excited to start his new position with The Waltonian as a Social Media Contributor. He hopes to explore the fields of music, technology, economics, and philosophy. When his schedule frees up, he enjoys singing, dancing, drawing, and hiking. He also produces his own music.
Grace Cooper is a junior double majoring in Marketing and Business Administration. She is excited to assist in social media content as a new member of the Waltonian. She is also a member of the Women’s Volleyball team and SAAC.
Erin Speak is a junior, Communication Studies major with a concentration in Digital Media Studies and a minor in Marketing. In addition to the Waltonian, she is a part of the women’s soccer and lacrosse teams. She spends her free time with friends and traveling to new places.
Jason Karch is a senior double major in Communication, focusing on Digital Media and Interpersonal Communications. He serves as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and competes as a runner on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams. You can also find him working as a Public Address announcer and providing color commentary at many Eastern sports games. In addition, he has served as the sports photographer for both last year and this current year.
Christelle Waked is a sophomore Criminal Justice major following the pre-law track. This is her first year on the Waltonian and she can’t wait to get out there and start taking pictures! She is also a volunteer firefighter.
Carmella Sta Teresa is a first year Biology major following the pre-veterinary track. This will be her first year with The Waltonian! She is incredibly excited to be taking photos for The Waltonian! Carmella is currently undertaking EMT school, keeping her very busy.
Jaden Mezetin is a freshman Communication Studies major and a student in the Templeton Honors College. He enjoys listening to and performing music and is currently digging down the rabbit hole of bossa-nova. This is his first year taking photos for the Waltonian, and he is excited for the events to come.
Leroy Cornette is an Education Major looking to teach Special Education. He is on the track team, but in his free time he enjoys taking pictures, listening to music and helping others.
Kennady Dean (she/her) is an English Literature major with a minor in Communication Studies at Eastern University. She works primarily in the ARC Department as a peer coach and is actively involved on campus as a member of the Eastern Marching Band Color Guard. Kennady also participates in the EQUIP Summer Bridge Program and serves as an ACT 101 student leader, where she contributes by sitting in on board meetings. This is her first year working with The Waltonian as a photographer, and she is excited to capture the vibrant moments of Eastern University through her lens.
Nicole Markert (she/they) is a staff member, adjunct professor, and advisor at Eastern University. They graduated from EU in 2020 with their bachelor’s in English Writing and Literature. She then went on to receive her MFA in Creative Writing and MA in Publishing from Rosemont College. They have several years of accumulated experience with non-profit publishers including Saturnalia Books, Philadelphia Stories, and Split Lip Magazine. Her poetry is also published in various literary magazines. When she is not advising the Waltonian or helping to manage the budget, she is drinking coffee and relaxing with her cats, Athena, Iris, and Egg.
I’m Ruby Baker, one of the Waltonian Advisors here at Eastern! Part of my role here at Eastern is as the Writing Center Coordinator and adjunct instructor in the English, Communication Studies, and First Year Studies departments. In my not-spare time, my work lies in creating fantastical stories of all kinds, playing D&D, and drinking far too much coffee.
