In the history of Eastern University, the maroon and white have always been represented as Eagles. However, until this time, the Eastern Eagle has been nameless, referred to only as “The Eagle.”
Sensing a need for change, the Waltonian, in conjunction with the Athletic Department, held a mascot naming contest. During Homecoming, the public was invited to submit suggestions for the Eagle’s official name.
Below we have listed the top five names. The decision is now up to you – go online to www.waltonian.com and cast your vote. The winning name will be announced in the Nov. 5 Waltonian.
