First annual tournament to be held during Fall Free Days

Many students look back on their childhood and remember the most enjoyable part of their school day: recess. Those were the days full of creating memories with friends while enjoying the outdoors, running, playing and laughing.

Do you ever wish you could relive those fun-filled days?

Well, now you can at Eastern’s upcoming Kickball Tournament.

The first annual Fall Free Days Kickball Tournament will be held on Olson Field from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 15. Students looking to become involved should sign up with the RA’s of their residence hall.

Sophomore Justin George, head of the Special Events Committee, came up with the idea of a kickball tournament. George was able to make his idea a reality with the help of Paul Daigle, Student Development Coordinator, and Kathleen Kieper, Student Activities Assistant.

The tournament will force the residence halls to come together as a team to compete against the other halls across Eastern’s campus.

The team that wins the tournament will be rewarded with a trophy, a pizza party and, of course, the right to brag about their victory.

From this experience, George hopes for students to “build more community, meet new people and just have a good time.”

So come out Oct. 15 to join your team and take a trip down memory lane. Be sure to bring your game!
