With 18 of 20 players returning from last season’s PAC champion team, the women’s soccer team seems ready for everything. Ten of last year’s 11 starters are returning, including seniors Ashley Hackman, Kara Neef, Corie Brant and Amanda Daveler. Junior Jill DiRenzo also returns to the team after leading the conference in goals with 25 last season.
Head Coach Dan Mouw said that the team is a really focused and strong group, first-years and all. He hopes that they can maintain the level of consistency they found after their fifth game last season. If they continue to grow as a team and prepare for each game, Mouw thinks that this will be another “conference we can win.”
Of course, according to Mouw, having a better team is more important than wins or losses.
“Last year’s goal was to make history,” he said. “This year’s goal is to finish that sentence with a prepositional phrase: for His glory.”
