When one thinks of US snowboarding, a certain young red-head comes to mind. Shaun White took over the sport in his 2006 Olympic debut, where, after an early scare in a poor qualifying run in the men’s halfpipe, White dominated the final, posting an unthinkable 46.8 points.

White is the epitome of the extreme athlete, also competing professionally as a skateboarder. He is the first athlete to win titles at both the Summer and Winter X Games.

White is poised to unleash his new trick, the double-cork, a maneuver that includes two diagonal flips. The double-cork helped White win the World Cup in August and he plans to ride the trick to another gold.
