Best FoodSome type of food can be found at almost every Homecoming stand: the real question is which do you want? This year one could feast on cheesesteaks, meatball sandwiches, chicken pot pie or chili. However, the sweet tooth won over most voters, particularly two options new to Homecoming: Compassion International’s cinnamon sugar pretzels and the Black Student Leagues’s funnel cakes.

Best T-ShirtOrganizations and athletic teams also use Homecoming as an opportunity to sell t-shirts, so the pressure to sell is high. However, despite their high price of $17, the Earthkeepers’ earth-friendly shirts sold out. The field hockey team also found success with their new design and sold their entire inventory. The Sunday Night Worship stand received a lot of votes for both their ‘Make Music not War’ shirts and their new design.

Best ActivityWhile most of the Homecoming crowd enjoyed watching the athletic games Saturday, there were several chances for spectators to join in on the action. The volleyball team held a contest after their game where fans could serve a ball over the net and win prizes if the ball landed on certain posters and t-shirts. Powderpuff, sponsored by the Alumni Office, ran a moonbounce that many youngsters loved, while Habitat for Humanity held their traditional jail where people attempted to raise money to free themselves.

Best Overall StandThe numerous stands put together by campus organizations and teams were, as usual, one of the biggest and most crowded aspects of Homecoming. The Bolivia stand, which supports Eastern mission trips to the country, stood out because it consisted of three tables, covered in jewelery, bags and cloth. The money that was raised will be used to help victims of sex offenders.
