The Eagle Classic

The Eagle Classic is a fundraiser run by members of the athletic staff in order to raise money and promote the Eastern athletic department. It was played at the White Manor Country Club where 44 golfers enjoyed lunch and time at the driving range. After playing 18 holes of golf ,before trophies and awards were handed out to the best golfers on the course that day.

“It was a great turnout,” Nate Stewart, the coordinator of the golf tournament said. This year’s Eagle Classic made an 85 percent increase in revenue from the inaugural Eagle Classic last year. The money made will go towards funding all aspects of the athletics department. The fundraiser allows athletic teams more flexibility with their travel budgets and the possibility of upgrading facilities.

“Everyone who played at the tournament had a great time. It was nice mingling with new people at the event as well as returnees,” Stewart said.

The athletics department is constantly making the effort to improve each athletic program as Eastern looks forward to future success.
