Head Coach: Matt Nadelhoffer (10th season)
Last Year’s Record: 13-13 (9-5 MAC, 2nd place)
Eastern’s men’s basketball team is ready for a new start. With a squad of seventeen players, nine of whom are brand new to the court, the Eagles are in the unique position to be able to take the season by storm.
“I am very excited about this season because I enjoy coaching these men,” Nadelhoffer said in an email. “They have shown tremendous dedication and discipline by practicing every single morning at 5:45 a.m.”
The three seniors on the team – Dave Christenson, Paul Trusty and Dan Miller – are backed by six first-years, four sophomores and four juniors, providing a balanced squad in terms of experience. New to the helm of coaching this year are ‘10 alum Chris Myers and Grove City alum Jon Lester.
Despite the new aspects of the team, some things remain the same, like the team’s wish for many fans in the stands to cheer them on. “We appreciate the support of the Eastern community,” Nadelhoffer said.
“Our goal for this season is to focus on things we can control: attitude, effort and character,” Nadelhoffer said. “I hope we impact others within our Athletic Department and community by focusing on what we control, regardless of winning or losing.”
