EU’s women’s soccer team dominated play to beat opponent Wilkes University 3-0.
First-year Kristine Zeiset scored her first of two goals in the 19th minute. Junior Jill DiRenzo played the ball to Zeiset who scored with ease. Wilkes’ chances came few and far between as Eastern continued to control play.
Eastern was rewarded in the 39th minute when senior Nicole Grindle finished a counter-attack break-away on a beautiful poke from first-year Allison Inch. In the 64th minute, Zeiset put the game away, volleying home a beautiful end line touch from junior Lauren Roe.
Senior Amanda Daveler earned the shut-out, fighting off the few chances the stubborn EU defense allowed. The Eagles are now 6-5 this season, 2-0 in the?MAC.
