Thanks to extensive remodeling of several offices and classrooms in McInnis this summer, the Biokinetics department now has a fully functioning lab for practical instruction. The majority of renovations were completed in September, but the final touches of moving in equipment and finishing interior work are wrapping up this month.

McInnis 101, formerly a large classroom with a fold-away wall, is now a dedicated space for practical purposes where biokinetics teachers can teach both classroom theory and realistic instruction in one room.

“Students can come in the room anytime McInnis is open with a special pass and practice skills and techniques learned in class,” Dr. Wendy Mercier said.

Previously, all of this type of work was completed in the athletic training room, but as the number of biokinetics majors and sports teams increased, meeting both academic and athletic department needs in that space became impossible.

“We’re so grateful to have it,” Mercier said of the new lab. “Soli Deo Gloria!”
