Women’s Soccer

Eastern put up a great effort against DeSales but drew a 1-1 tie. With Eastern down early, the team started to feel the pressure in front of its home crowd. In the second half, things finally got rolling. First-year Cara Dembrosky found senior Jill DiRenzo who sent the ball into the back of the goal, tying the game.

Eastern was unable to capitalize on its shots, leading to two overtime periods.  In the second overtime, the defense kept DeSales at bay. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not find the back of the net.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer team had the most thrilling victories of homecoming weekend. Down by two goals in the first five minutes of the game, Eastern overcame the early setbacks to defeat DeSales 4-3.

Down 3-to-1 late in the first half, the Eagles needed a goal for momentum to go into halftime.  Junior Kyle Hurst received a pass from junior Ben Faro to cut the Bulldogs’ lead to one as they headed into the half.

Hurst found the back of the net again late in the second half as senior Terry Fry found the midfielder in stride to tie the game and send them into overtime. In overtime, Fry found Faro for the game winning point as the crowd went wild.
