The women’s lacrosse team is looking forward to a strong season this year, and plans to come out swinging after ending last year’s season with an 8-10 overall record and finishing as Freedom Conference runner-ups.
Camrin Azzarano kicks off her seventh year as head coach of the program, and she is as enthusiastic as ever. Azzarano says, “We are always grateful for every new opportunity for us to define who we are as Eastern lacrosse players. We strive to work hard daily, growing our team unit and skill sets.”
Emily Fisher, junior attack for the Eagles, is also looking forward to the upcoming season and is striving for a winning record. The team is coming into their season with a fresh mindset, and a multitude of new faces. Fisher says, “One main thing we are looking forward to improving on from last year is our fluidity on the field. We are really striving and working hard for a strong, powerful defense and quick attacking offense this 2013 season.”
Coach Azzarano stresses, “We do not place expectations on ourselves; instead we work to establish standards of behavior and play which demonstrate our gifts, and ultimately play for God’s glory. The lacrosse team is upholding a positive confidence that drives us to believe that can accomplish [much success] this season.”
The Lady Eagles open their season on Saturday, March 2nd against Swarthmore College.
