If you haven’t heard about her yet, get ready to learn a lot about Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn in the next couple days. Even though she has yet to win an Olympic medal, Vonn is currently the best female Alpine skier in the world and won two world championship titles in speed events in 2009. In her third appearance at the prestigious games, Vonn could easily win gold in any of her four events: Super G, Giant Slalom, Slalom and Super-combined.

Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Vonn. She was expected to medal in two or three events in the 2006 games, but suffered from a possibly career-threatening crash while training. She was able to recover and, despite the pain, competed in five events, but never finished higher than seventh. Vonn hopes to change that this year and capture her first Olympic gold.
