Party hopping with a purpose

The Student Activities Board welcomed students back for the spring semester in a flash on Jan. 23–with five dance parties in five locations.

The “Flash Dance” was a unique event that took students party hopping all across the campus. Those planning to attend signed up beforehand so that the secret locations for each dance party could be texted to their phones at the appropriate time.

The party began at 10 p.m. in the Eagle Great Room. About twenty minutes later, participants received a text informing them of the second location, McInnis lobby.  A few texts later and the troop of about 60 students moved from the Gough Great Room, to the Walton second floor lobby, to their final party destination: the second floor of Warner library, complete with refreshments and decorations.

Participants were encouraged to bring spare change to the Flash Dance to donate towards organizations that are working for relief efforts in Haiti.
