Fun Fall Festivities!

With summer fading away, the crisp air of autumn settles in to take summer’s place. Whether you realized this by the change in temperature or by Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, fall has descended upon us. All the fun activities you love to do this time of year are here once again. And yes, you can finally break out your first sweater of the season. Here are some fun fall festivities in the area to mark in your calendar when you want to enjoy this beautiful time of year.

Founder’s Day Fall Festival – A colonial-themed event.
When: September 29th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge
$: FREE and nominal fee for activities.

Fall Harvest Fest – Historic demonstrations and craftsmen as well as activities, such as hay rides, pumpkin painting, games, and more.
When: October 6th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Nathaniel Newlin Grist Mill Park in Glen Mills.
$: FREE.

The Fall Harvest and Great Pumpkin Patch Event – Pumpkin picking, hay wagon rides, demonstrations, and more.
When: October 7th from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Where: The Willows in Villanova.
$: FREE and nominal fee for activities.

Fall Festival – Scarecrow making, apple sampling, and more
When: October 7th from 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.$: FREE-$16 (some activities).

Fall Foliage Walk – Early morning walk to enjoy the changing leaves of the trees.
When: October 20th from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
Where: Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in Philadelphia.$: FREE.

Halloween Festival – Harry Potter scavenger hunt, museum tours, demonstration of wheat weaving, and more.
When: October 27th from 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn
$: $8 Adults, $6 Seniors/ Students with ID, $20 family cap.

PumpkinFest at Shady Brook Farm – Wagon rides, pick-your-own pumpkin, corn maze, and more.
When: September 15-October 31 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Shady Brook Farm in Yardley.
$: $12 general admission

Philadelphia Ghost Tour – Tour on foot exploring sights of the city while hearing haunted tales.
When: October 25-November 4 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
Where: Public Ledger Building in Philadelphia.
$: FREE.
