Eagles receive MAC awards

Yvonne Herbster

Sophomore forward Yvonne Herbster earned player of the week honors from Sept. 14-20. Herbster scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss against #4 TCNJ.

When field hockey defeated Widener on Sept. 17, Herbster scored the only goal, which helped Eastern win a close match 1-0.

On Sept. 19, Herbster continued her scoring success, dishing out two assists to help the team defeat Neumann 3-1.

Herbster is currently the team leader in points.  Her offensive explosion helped the Eagles finish the week with a 3-1 record.

Laura Ressler

Junior Laura Ressler received goalie of the week honors for her performance from Sept. 14-20.

Ressler had a sensational week in-between the pipes, allowing only three goals in three games.

Ressler recorded her second shutout of the year against Widener. Ressler has kept other offensive teams at bay, allowing about two goals per game.

Maria Horning

Sophomore setter Maria Horning was named player of the week from September 14-20.

Horning, the 2008 Freedom Conference Player of the Year, helped the Eagles post a 4-0 record for the week.

The All-American tallied 163 assists, 10 kills and 34 digs in the four matches, tallying 50 assists in a 3-1 victory over Williams.
