Eastern is holding its annual Spring Dance Concert on April 18-19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 20 at 3 p.m. in McInnis Auditorium.

This year’s concert is entitled …Meanwhile I Keep Dancing and is comprised of a variety of genres of dance choreographed and performed by Eastern faculty and students.

The subject matter of the show was determined by dance department faculty and demonstrates deep concerns with topics such as encountering differences in others, addiction and racial issues.

A highlighted performer is dance instructor Jocelli Deans, performing a self-choreographed piece. Also, sophomore Britney Doyle will be performing three of her own pieces containing aspects of modern dance and ballet.

Sophomore Kaylee Goodwin, performing in three pieces, is excited about the annual concert. She will be presenting her skills of modern contemporary dance and ballet. In regards to the upcoming event, Goodwin said, “It’s taken a long time to pull all the choreography together, but I know it will be good.”

The show includes eight pieces plus a short intermission and will also feature pieces choreographed by first-year Natalie Landis, sophomores Jessica Bryan, Chelsea Simon and Jenna Eugenides, junior Evelyn McGee and senior Alyssa Carmy.

For those interested in attending, the event ticket prices vary. For Eastern students with their Eastern ID, tickets are $5. General admission is $10 and $8 for children and seniors.
