Every year, thousands of college students flock to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia to participate in the city’s annual College Day.

With a valid college ID, students can take advantage of free admission to a number of museums and cultural institutions, as well as receive discounts at approximately 40 participating stores and restaurants.

College Day, which is sponsored by Campus Philly, a non-profit organization, and the city of Philadelphia, is celebrating its 24th year this year.

This year, College Day will be held on September 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free shuttles will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to Love Park, stopping at each College Day site along the way.

College Day provides a great way to explore Philadelphia and sample its fascinating art and culture for free.

Institutions offering free admission this year include The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Rodin Museum, The Galleries and Moore College of Art and Design, The Academy of Natural Sciences, The Franklin Institute, Eastern State Penitentiary, the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Academy of Natural Sciences.

“The point of the event is to help students break through the campus bubble and access Philadelphia’s great culture, dining, entertainment and community opportunities,” Campus Philly’s executive director Jon Herrmann said.

So, if you are looking for a fun and productive way to spend the Saturday that weekend, join your fellow college students from all over the state for a day of inexpensive food and entertainment.
