Long gone are the days when Eastern Baseball’s season win totals would be surpassed by the number of innings in a game. Jed Morris takes over a team that won 20 games last year and is hungry for more success. “Our expectation is always to win,” says senior pitcher Barry Jost. “Although our record says we had a winning season [last year], the fact we didn’t make playoffs is enough to call it a loss.”
The transition to a new coach has been a smooth one to this point, with shorter, more focused practices. And Morris has been pleased with his team’s preparation thus far: “The team has great internal leadership,” says Morris.
Morris’s goal for the Eagles this season? A Freedom Conference Regular Season Title and the team’s first trip to the MAC playoffs.
