Dear Friends,

We’ve been together for a couple of months now and I can say that I’ve been mostly happy in our relationship. I say mostly because, though I’m assured by my editor that I am loved and adored by all, there is something missing in my life. You.

You read my letters week after week, you listen as I pour my heart out on in this little box and you say that I have your utmost devotion, but you have been lax in your appreciation and it must stop. This silence must end. I don’t know what I did to deserve this kind of treatment but it’s unfair.

Why won’t you talk to me? They don’t call me the guy who knows it all for nothing. I understand if you don’t feel about me the way I feel about you, but can’t we at least be friends? You can think of me as a resource. Like the library or your advisor; a tool to be used for your benefit. And besides that…(now it takes a real man to admit this) I miss you.

I want you to tell me your problems, because I can help. I really can. Ask me questions, send your concerns, send your love (you know you want to) and end this cold-shoulder business now. Please. I can’t exist without you.

                All my love,

                    – Walt
