The Waltonian sincerely apologizes for the hurt and sense of marginalization that people have felt in response to a recent opinions article.
Several Waltonian editors were able to gather in an emergency meeting this afternoon. We invite corrections and counter views in the form of letters to the editor* or on our website (www.waltonian.com). The statistics, and the assumptions based on those statistics are being checked for accuracy, and corrections, if necessary, will be published online and in the newspaper.
In recognition of the response and reaction to this article, the administration invites everyone to attend a community forum on Monday April 4th at 10 a.m. in McInnis Auditorium.
We have been asked to announce that there will be additional opportunities for engagement with these issues in the future.
Sincerely,
Kat Hayes, Advisor
Chelsea Post, Editor-in-Chief
Beth Dahlstrom, Features Editor
Olivia Denton, Assistant Web Editor
Andrew Milbourne, Copyeditor
