Men’s tennis had a fall season shortened by weather, but still managed to get some solid play in. With only two matches scheduled, one of which was rained out, they had a limited amount of time to put in work as a team before the spring season began. It certainly helped having lost only one player to graduation, meaning the team returns largely the same core group, plus three solid freshmen. This fall the guys were able to participate separately in the MAC Individual Tournament. Sophomore number two Grant Williams and freshman number five Landon Walter were the standout performers as both advanced to the quarterfinals in their respective groups, known as “flights.” Unfortunately, both guys were eliminated in the next round. Still, Coach Mark Wagner says the guys have looked “pretty good” this fall and looks forward to working the new guys into the mix come spring.
