Apolo Anton Ohno is basically the Michael Phelps of the winter games.

The five-time Olympic medalist–two gold, one silver and two bronze–needs only two more medals to pass Bonnie Blair and become the most decorated winter American Olympian. He tied speed skater Eric Heiden for the most career winter medals won by an American man when he won three in 2006.

After winning his tenth consecutive national title in September, Ohno qualified to compete in all three individual short track events: the 500m, 1000m and 1500m. He will also race as part of the 5000m relay team, giving him four chances to make history.

While Ohno could easily claim gold in each of his events, the highly competitive and physical atmosphere of short track speed skating means anything can happen.
