Eastern’s Music department took the McInnis stage at its annual Spring Music Festival on April 24th and 25th at 8 p.m. Friday night began with the Eastern Winds and continued with the Eastern Strings, the Flute Ensemble and the University Choir. Saturday night found the Eastern Orchestra performing first, one of its pieces showcasing the typewriting talents of the administrative assistant of the music department, Colleen Bradstreet. After the orchestra, the Chamber Ensemble, Women’s Chorale, Turning Point and Angels of Harmony graced the audience with their vocal talent. This year’s festival also introduced the new group MIDI (Musical Instrumental Digital Interface), a five-person ensemble armed with electronic instruments and amps. The two-night concert produced beautiful music and was viewed as a great success by all involved.
