There was not an empty seat in the house at the Walton Dining Commons on Friday, February 3. Everyone crowded in to see who would be crowned Miss Eastern 2012.

The annual Miss Eastern event was full of talent and comedy as the seven contestants competed for the crown. This year’s contestants were junior Laura Temons, senior Bri Hall, junior Emily Lynn, first-year Shaina Rajan, junior Emily Samuelson, first-year Emily Sailor, and first-year Harmony Billie.

The night was facilitated by SGA and hosted by junior Brittany Keith and sophomore Ducky Ryan, who kicked off the event by introducing each of the contestants and their escorts.

Four students, including the 2011 Miss Eastern winner, sophomore Alysia Goodman, judged the seven ladies as they showcased their talents in front of their classmates and friends. There were two rounds of eliminations based on the contestants’ talent performance and answers to questions from the audience, narrowing down the field to three finalists. The finalists then competed in a relay and the judges deliberated to determine this year’s winner.

The night came to a close as finalist Bri Hall was crowned Miss Eastern 2012. Congratulations, Bri!
