The men’s tennis team looks to increase its already high confidence after a 3-0 record from the fall season. Returning five starters, the tennis team will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to compete against Ashford University and Lebanon Valley College.
“We have a lot of leadership from Dan Wilson, Bryan Arnett, Mike Roth and Tyler Hoagland,” head coach Mark Spangler said. “The team will be staying in a house in Hilton Head and will have all of their matches and practices coordinated through an organization called Spring Break Tennis.”
Spring Break Tennis is a program that hosts different tennis teams all over the nation. In the week the team is down there, there will also be another 80 college tennis teams in the area. “During the time the athletes are not playing tennis, they can go on the beach if it’s warm enough,” Spangler said.
“The main goal is to get some good practice in while we are not competing,” Spangler added. “We have only practiced six times on tennis courts which we have to go to the Gulph Mills Tennis Facility to do so.”
The team will have a good time bonding and getting its season started with some good matches. This year’s tennis team looks to spark itself for a great season.
