10/19: Terry Fry – Men’s Soccer

Junior forward Terry Fry earned his first player of the week honors for the week ending on Oct. 19, with four goals in two big conference games.

On Oct. 15, Fry scored twice as the Eagles easily defeated Delaware Valley, 6-0. Three days later, Fry again scored twice against FDU Florham, breaking a tense 0-0 tie in the 66th minute. The Eagles went on to defeat FDU, 3-0.

Fry leads the team with 13 goals, five of which were game-winners. He also has two assists, giving him 28 points on the year.

10/26: Courtney Reinhold – Volleyball

First-year outside hitter Courtney Reinhold earned MAC Freedom Conference player of the year honors for the Eagles 4-0 performance from October 20-26. The Eagles, who finished the regular season undefeated in the MAC at 8-0, with a 31-1 overall record, are ranked 24th in the nation and begin playoffs on Nov. 5 with a 7 p.m. home match.

Reinhold has become a huge part of Eastern’s success, pitching in both offensively and defensively.

Against Alvernia on Oct. 21, she had six kills, five digs and two aces as the Eagles cruised to a 3-0 victory. Two days later she tallied 14 kills, 17 digs and three aces against last year’s MAC champion, DeSales, whom the Eagles also defeated 3-0.

On Oct. 25, the Eagles took on two strong teams from York College and Widener University, defeating both teams 3-0 in the home tri-match. Reinhold lead the team with 15 kills, eight digs, two blocks and one ace against York. Later that day, she again scored double digits in kills with 13, in addition to eight digs while assisting in five blocks.

For the season, Reinhold leads the team with 363 kills and a .340 hitting percentage. She is second on the team in digs with 362 and in aces with 38, while adding 59 blocks.

10/26: Lindsay Moyer and Laura Ressler – Field Hockey

The Eastern field hockey team swept the sport’s MAC Freedom Conference honors for the week ending on Oct. 26, claiming both offensive and defensive player of the week awards.

Junior midfielder Lindsay Moyer was named offensive player of the week for her three goal and one assist performance. Against King’s College on Oct. 22, Moyer scored within the first 90 seconds to ignite the Eastern offense on their way to a 4-1 victory.

Moyer again let her presence be known in another MAC game on Oct. 25 against Manhattanville. She scored twice in the game and assisted on another goal, leading the Eagles to a 4-0 victory. Moyer is currently leading the team with 14 goals and seven assists for a total of 35 points.

On the defensive side, sophomore goalie Laura Ressler earned her second goalie of the week honors this season. She only allowed one goal against King’s College, while making two saves.

Ressler earned the shutout later in the week against Manhattanville with three saves. For the year, Ressler has only been scored on 17 times while making 83 saves, giving her a .830 save percentage.
