Many new faces will greet students when they return this fall, and Leah Mulhearn is proud to be one of them. She will be the new coordinator of housing and also the resident director of Gallup.

As a former Eastern student, Mulhearn is excited to return to the place where she learned so much.

After she graduated in ’03, Mulhearn spent the past two years in Charlottesville, Va., while her husband, Jim, went to school.

Originally from New Jersey, Mulhearn received her bachelor’s degree in psychology, but had hopes of pursuing a career within student development.

She is currently working towards a master’s degree in student development from Geneva College.

Adjusting to her position at Eastern has been enjoyable for Mulhearn because of her unique opportunity to interact with so many different people.

“It’s the great thing about housing,” Mulhearn said. “You get to talk to a lot of people and it’s nice to meet families and put faces with names.”

Mulhearn is excited to be back in this area, where she will have an opportunity to explore the area as a graduate. She enjoys trying out new restaurants and cooking with new recipes.

The performing arts are also something that Mulhearn really enjoys. She looks forward to the various productions and shows that will be coming to campus and the area.

As a former member of the SGA and SAB, Mulhearn believes that Eastern’s campus does a great job of providing students with opportunities to go above and beyond in terms of involvement.

Now Mulhearn will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students that are pushing towards a bright future at Eastern.

“I am very excited to be back in the Eastern community,” Mulhearn said. “I always felt the students made Eastern a better place.”
