Eastern’s chapter of International Justice Mission sponsored EU Idol, an event held in the Dining Commons on the evening of April 9. The night’s contestants were senior Renee Moore, first-year Dominique Wilson, first-year Elisha Chernoff, first-year Dustin Kern, senior Christopher Plumberg, senior Robynn Delaware, sophomore Jason Collier, sophomore Donielle Rodwell, first-year Cristina Gore and junior Ashley Loufik. Each of the ten contestants stepped on stage to perform a song from a variety of genres, hoping to impress judges Daryl Hawkins, Michael Skinner, Caroline Cherry and Bettie Ann Brigham, as well as the audience.

The judges determined that Robynn Delaware and Elisha Chernoff gave the top two performances.

“You did well with a very difficult song,” Hawkins said of Delaware’s performance.

After Chernoff’s performance, Skinner said, “I loved the charisma and the energy.”

After an additional song from both performers, Chernoff was proclaimed EU Idol, receiving a trophy, a gift card to Chili’s and enthusiastic applause.
