The Student Activities Board hosted a coffeehouse in the name of love on Feb. 12. The Valentine’s Day-inspired event in the Dining Commons started around 8:30 p.m.
Coffee, tea and hot chocolate stations were set up around the salad bar, along with fresh fruit, chips and dip, cookies and Hershey’s kisses. Several of the tables were covered in brown paper and crayons for students to doodle with, while the rows of chairs set up had throw pillows strewn over them.
After a quick announcement, first-year Amy Peck came up to the keyboard and played two pieces: an original love song and her favorite worship song.
Next up was junior Mike Montgomery who strummed two original songs on his acoustic guitar.
The third singer was first-year Amanda Mueller who also played two original songs.
The next performers were juniors Katy Glorioso and Tess Roholt, who sang two duets. Then, Glorioso got on her keyboard and sang an original song, “Shark and The Bird.”
Last but not least, the South Jersey band Ashlyn took the stage and closed out the night.
About 70 students attended the coffeehouse throughout the night, with several trickling in and out during the show.
