The Men’s basketball team looks to rebound from a .500 season where it finished 12-12 season last year. The Eagles were 5-9 within the Freedom Conference. Head coach Nate Stewart, in his first year at the helm, looks to initiate a new style of play. “Our ultimate goal is to win the Freedom conference and go to the NCAA tournament,” he said. “It’s been tough. Everyone has had to adjust to me and I have had to adjust to them. I want the team to grow every day in faith, in the classroom and as a team.” Stewart spent several years at the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus as an assistant coach before taking the reigns as Eastern’s basketball coach this past June. Come support the men’s basketball team for its debut on November 15th against visiting Rosemont College.

Women’s basketball has been picked second in the Preseason Coaching Poll by the Middle Atlantic Conferences office. The Lady Eagles have come a long way from only winning one league game two seasons ago. Last season, under first-year head coach Nate Davis, the Eagles went 8-6 in Freedom Conference play and 16-9 overall. They split with every team in the Conference last season except for Wilkes, whom they beat both times they played. The women’s basketball team is led by Shante Jones (22 points per game) and Bekah Roland (13 points per game). Come support the women’s basketball team as it hosts visiting Rosemont College on November 15 at 6:00 pm.
