Eastern Welcomes New Employees

Robert West and Andrew Whitmore join Web & User Services Team

This year brings two new members to the Web & User Services Team, Robert West and Andrew Whitmore. As the newest computer technicians for the Eastern community, they are relatively unfamiliar faces. Although the two come from different backgrounds, they are both very excited to be a part of our community.

With technology playing such a role in the daily activities of a college student, having West and Whitmore around will be a key addition for Eastern.

For West, computers have always been in his comfort zone. This has shown through his job experience, as he has worked with corporate computers for 13 years. He also has eight years of academic computing under his belt. These experiences make Eastern a good fit for West. He hopes that with his computer skills, there will be less stressful moments for students and faculty alike.

Similar to West, computers are Whitmore’s passion. Since he was young, he has always been involved with computers. They seem to be second nature to him, which is likely why he is a computer technician at Staples, in addition to being employed full-time here at Eastern. Whitmore hopes to take advantage of the free classes given to full-time Eastern employees, so do not be surprised if you see him in any of your classes in the future.

Both West and Whitmore work in the basement of the Eagle Learning Center, and if one needs any technology assistance, they will always be there to help. Come visit them during their hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Alternatively, if you do not have time to drop by, you can also make an appointment on Eastern’s request board.

When you see West and Whitmore on campus, say hello and welcome them to Eastern! Their work will help improve Eastern’s technology and productivity.
